Study Overseas

Academic opportunity. Cultural adventure. Life changing experience.

Go on an adventure that allows you to move across the globe, and continue to undertake your USC academic studies, while fully immersing yourself in another culture.

USC students who would like to study overseas have two options – participate in a semester-based program or experience a short term program. More information on each of these options can be found below.

The Study Overseas (SO) Program is USC's reciprocal exchange program whereby USC’s SO team nominates successful nominees to an agreed USC partner institution as an exchange student.

USC has over 70 partner institutions around the world! You can choose to study in The Americas, Europe or Asia, while earning credit towards your USC degree.

  • SO Program duration is usually 1 Semester (4 months)
  • You remain enrolled as a USC student, and pay tuition at USC as per USC's program fees

While overseas you will study:

  • courses that may be credited towards your USC degree
  • the equivalent of 4 USC courses (48 units)
  • courses offered in English*

*Unless you are intending to enrol in USC'S In-Country Language program, in which case please contact your Course Coordinator.

What next?

The Study Overseas program for Semester 1 2023 is now open. Review the application steps to see how to progress with your Study Overseas experience.

Study Overseas Short-Term Programs are a component of USC’s Work Integrated Learning (WIL) that allows you to travel overseas for an educational experience that counts toward your degree. WIL incorporates a range of experiences including work place learning, clinical placements, internships, professional practicums, School led study tours, short courses and language programs (2 weeks to 3 months).
